READY FOR CUTTING

Export manual patterns

All pieces and layers at 1:1 scale. Each template is output once, with the quantity indicated in the label.

PDF: Print at 100%, without fitting. Large pieces—use a plotter or poster mode. Curves in PDF and DXF are split into segments with a tolerance of 0,02 mm.

Check joins, seam allowances and stitching on a paper mockup before cutting.

Designer workspace

  1. Start with a new piece, use the current model from the constructor, or open a VLOTHO project file, including from the “From photo” section.
  2. Select a line in the drawing or list. Drag nodes, and set X and Y in millimeters. “Smooth” adds Bézier curve handles.
  3. «Contour: add points by clicking, then close the line by clicking the first point. For stitch lines and markings, you can leave the line open. Set the layer on the right.
  4. Dimensions, mirroring, and rotation apply to the entire piece, including lines and holes. Nodes on each line are edited independently. Dimensions indicate the cut-edge extents.
  5. The preview on the left shows the original product. Rotate it with the mouse, zoom with the wheel, expand with the button ⤢. Selecting a piece on the model opens its pattern piece. The model is saved in JSON; manual contour edits do not recalculate the assembly.
  6. The chat below the drawing changes the selected piece or node using a text command: dimensions, move, rotation, mirroring, copy, and quantity in the cut. You can add a rectangular piece or a hole with precise coordinates. All changes made by the command can be undone in one action. If the request is ambiguous, the chat will ask for clarification. Chat history remains available until the page is refreshed or another project is opened.
  7. Save work stages with the “Versions” button. When restoring a version, the current state is automatically added to the history. Download the project in JSON together with its versions and export the patterns. Autosave works in this browser; manual projects are not yet saved to your account.

V — nodes · P — contour · H or spacebar with the mouse — pan · F — fit · Delete — delete node · Esc — cancel drawing or dragging · Ctrl/⌘+Z — undo · Ctrl/⌘+Shift+Z — redo · Ctrl/⌘+S — save.

Manual editing does not change the original parametric 3D model. Seam connections and seam allowances are not recalculated automatically.

PROJECT HISTORY

Saved versions

Save work stages and return to them. A version contains patterns, dimensions and the source model for preview.

Versions are stored on this device and included in the downloaded project JSON file. Before restoring, the current state is automatically saved as a separate version.

Online pattern editor — nodes, curves, and 1:1 export

Edit contours and Bézier curves, set piece dimensions, save versions, and export patterns to PDF, SVG, and DXF. VLOTHO manual editor.

Digitizing patterns requires precise contour transfer and dimension checking. In this editor, contours are defined manually: automatic scanning of paper patterns is not supported. Edit nodes, curves, and dimensions of individual pieces. Manual edits do not automatically rebuild the original 3D model, seam allowances, or joins. Autosaves and versions are stored on the device; download the JSON as a backup.

Result and verification

SVG, DXF and PDF export preserves contours in millimeters. For full-scale printing, select 100% scale without fitting. Before cutting, check the size of the reference segment or a known piece and assemble a layout.
