How to get a trial model and patterns from a photo
Preparing photos, known dimensions, recognition modes, and checking the VLOTHO CAD result.
Prepare your photos
Photograph one product from the front, side, and back against an even background without strong perspective distortion. You can upload up to three JPG, PNG, or WebP files, each up to 12 MB. Enter the known width, height, and depth. If a dimension is unknown, leave the field blank: the system’s estimate must then be checked against the product.
Choose a processing mode
Photos for recognition are sent to Google. To use the personal account, sign in to VLOTHO.
Check the trial construction
- Compare the product type, dimensions, and set of pieces with the photos.
- Review the 3D and flat patterns. Check estimated dimensions by measuring them.
- Refine the construction and details through the chat. The command, project context, and attached sample are sent to Google; the conversation is saved with the project.
- Adapt the technical specification to the materials and equipment used in your production.
- Download the JSON, save the project to your account, and export the patterns. Check the paper mock-up first.
What the photo result means
This is an experimental construction of trial geometry. The appearance alone cannot reliably reconstruct all hidden details, thicknesses, seam allowances, or assembly technology. Check the hardware, interfaces, and dimensions. Use photos that you are authorized to use.
