Leather belt pattern — your own dimensions
Belt pattern: parameters, piece composition, and SVG and DXF examples. Change the dimensions in VLOTHO CAD and export your own patterns.

Parametric belt with a pointed tip, a fold for the buckle, and a separate belt loop. In manual-stitch mode, the patterns include pricking holes. The number, diameter, and spacing of adjustment holes, the distance from the tip, and the dimensions of the tongue slot are configured separately.

Example source parameters
Linear dimensions are given in millimeters. Parameter names match the designer fields; these are the initial settings and can be changed.
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Total blank length | 1150 |
| Strap width | 35 |
| Fold for buckle | 60 |
| Tip length | 30 |
| Strap loop blank length | 88 |
| Strap loop width | 12 |
| Number of buckle holes · 0 = none | 5 |
| Buckle hole diameter | 4 |
| Buckle hole spacing | 25 |
| From toe to nearest hole | 90 |
| Tongue slot length · 0 = no slot | 20 |
| Tongue slot width | 5 |
| Leather thickness | 3 |
| Seam offset from the edge | 3 |
Parts in this example
The dimensions below are derived from the geometric model. The parts list changes with the parameters and enabled options.
| Piece | Size, mm |
|---|---|
| Strap strip | 1150.0 × 35.0 |
| Belt loop | 88.0 × 12.0 |
How the size changes the pattern piece
Calculated example: the “overall blank length” parameter was changed from 1150 to 1265 mm. The diagram shows the “Belt strap” piece before and after recalculation at the same scale.

The files were generated using the standard VLOTHO CAD export from the parameters specified above. They show the model geometry and do not replace checking the product in the material.
PDF A4, 6 sheetsPDF patterns, 1:1SVG patterns, 1:1DXF patterns, mmJSON project
PDF A4 automatically selects portrait or landscape pages and rotates the pieces to reduce the number of sheets. For assembly, a 10 mm overlap, numbers, and alignment marks are provided. The standard PDF contains one piece per page. Both variants include a 100 mm test segment. For your own dimensions, modify the project and export a new PDF. How to print patterns at 1:1 scale.
What to check before cutting
Before punching, check the circumference and buckle: the initial holes are a test layout. Select the fold fastener separately. Fit the belt loop around the belt and join it with an 8 mm overlap; align the paired rows of holes.
VLOTHO CAD builds a geometric prototype. Allowances for bending, skiving, assembly thickness, and construction methods are determined by your material. Start with a paper mockup and a trial piece.
How to get a pattern for your dimensions
- Open the model and set the dimensions in millimeters. To reproduce the tabular example, first load its JSON.
- Check the parts list and enabled options. Adjust the seam and dimensions for your material.
- Save the project and export a new pattern set. After changing the dimensions, the previous files no longer correspond to the project.
Dimension reference for this model: Stitching line. Dimensions in the piece table and the outer cutting contour may differ because of the seam allowance. How to check seam allowances and stitching lines.
Questions about this construction
Do the patterns include pricking holes?
Yes. Manual stitching adds holes with the selected spacing and diameter along the belt outline and at the ends of the belt loop. Buckle holes and the tongue slot have separate settings. They are included in PDF, SVG, and DXF; a value of 0 disables the number of holes or the slot length.
Can the hole size be changed for my buckle?
Yes. The construction pieces specify the diameter, number, spacing, and offset of the adjustment holes, as well as the length and width of the tongue slot. Before punching, compare the pattern with the actual hardware.
